$6 · Hollyhock seeds- variety of colours, mostly sold in 10 grams for $6

Perennial flower. Grown best in full sun, will also grow in partial sun or light shade. Best to plant them against a fence, or something to lean against from the wind. Sow your seeds in August or September so your seeds can harden over the cold winter to germinate. Space the plants about 12-18 inches apart. Scatter seeds on top of soil and lightly cover with soil and water gently to keep the soil moist until the seeds sprout. Most grows to 8-10 feet tall. Cut back some leaves to air out at the base and to water at the base. Prefer rich, well drained, moist soil. They bloom in their second year, some even in their third year’s. Hollyhocks do cross pollinate. Bees change the color of your hollyhock, so some times you don’t always get the color you start out with. Once the flowers are past their prime, you can cut the hollyhock spikes to the ground. Colors are: all seeds are 10 grams for $6, see picture #2 & #3 or stated otherwise.
