$500 · Lot of 22 NANCY DREW MYSTERY BOOKS, blue tweed hardcover - vintage, 1960s

ATTENTION COLLECTORS: This is my collection of 22 Nancy Drew mystery story books by Carolyn Keene, acquired by me starting in 1961. All of them have blue tweed covers but no dust jackets. Twelve were acquired by me, new, between 1961 and 1964 or until they stopped making them in blue tweed w/ DJs and switched to yellow spine, coloured covers w/o DJs. As an adult collector, I bought additional blue tweed books in used condition, thus, I have ended up with two Old Clocks, two Ski Jumps and two Scarlet Slippers. There are therefore 19 different titles in this lot of 22 books. See the photos for the titles (Mystery of the Fire Dragon, shown in the photos, is not available now). From a smoke-free house; no smells or odours. I prefer to sell these books as a lot of 22, but can price them individually for an interested buyer. Just as an example, my original childhood copy of volume #1, Secret of the Old Clock, which I was given in 1961, is priced at $25. My duplicate copy of #1 would be less than that, as it is an ex-library book and not in the same condition as the one that I was given as a child. As another example, you could buy that ex-library copy of Secret of the Old Clock, along with #5 Secret at Shadow Ranch, for $9, for both. #24 Clue in the Old Album, with "blue silhouette" end papers, which I bought from a dealer about 30 years ago, probably dates from 1947 to 1953, and is priced at $9 (see the last two photos). #26 Clue of the Leaning Chimney, with the same "blue silhouette" end papers, is $15. #28 Clue of the Black Keys and #31 The Ringmaster's Secret, with more recent blue multi-pic end papers, are $14 and $20, respectively. One copy of #29 Mystery at the Ski Jump and one copy of #32 The Scarlet Slipper Mystery, with the older "digger" end papers, are $14 each.
