$6 · THE SWISS FAMILY ROBINSON - The Companion Library of Classics, 1963

ATTENTION COLLECTORS: This is my childhood book by Johann Wyss, The Swiss Family Robinson, which I bought new at Eagle's in Swift Current in August, 1963. Published by Grosset & Dunlap, Inc. of New York in 1963 as part of their series called "The Companion Library of Classics", this book was illustrated by Lee Gregori. The book has turquoise blue endpapers, with illustrations of other books in the series. The endpapers are unlike the endpapers that I've seen on other G&D editions of this book which are advertised for sale. The cover has some scuffing along the edges and the endpapers have split, but everything is still attached and tight. Page 153/4, and a few of the pages below it, have small dog-eared corners (see the last photo). The pages have turned colour, from white to pale beige. This book has no smells, odours, handwriting, underlining or stains, and no rips - other than the separation of the end papers that I've mentioned.
