From a gardener's standpoint, day-neutral strawberries are the best class of strawberry to grow. I have the variety Fern and they are excellent. Plant some now and you may even get some this year. Plant day-neutrals in a double row with 1' between the double row at 1' intervals. They would be bare-root but super easy to get growing. 50 cents each.
