$9 · JUDY BOLTON MYSTERY STORY, THE BLACK CAT'S CLUE #23 by Margaret Sutton, vintage

ATTENTION COLLECTORS: This is a gently used copy of The Black Cat's Clue, #23 in the Judy Bolton Mystery Story series by Margaret Sutton, copyright 1952. I bought this book many years ago, as an adult, for my collection. Based on the artwork, my guess is that this book dates from about 1959. Tweed cover, no dust jacket. Inside titles list to #29, Clue of the Broken Wing. The previous owner's name is handwritten on the flyleaf, in pen, and on the title list, she has written the book numbers in pencil. There is no other writing or scribbling inside the book. The end papers have split apart very slightly, less at the back than at the front. The inside pages have turned colour, from white to pale beige, with age. From a smoke-free house, no smells, odours, or rips. There is one very small (1 inch x .5 inch) water stain on the top of the pages - see the last photo. It's so minor that I didn't realize that it was there until I set about photographing the book. The stain is confined to the top of the pages and does not extend to the inside of the book. Contact me for one additional photo; I could post only 8 on this site.
