Tamarack / Larch trees 3-5 feet tall Tamarack tolerates extremely varied climatic conditions, from -30 degrees to 110 degrees Fahrenheit (34 to 43 C.). It can thrive in regions where rainfall is only 7 inches annually and also where it is 55 inches annually. There are large Tamarack trees in AE Wilson park just off of Kent St and in Wascana park by the Habitat Conservation area. Tamarack is a small to medium-sized, upright, deciduous conifer. It is one of the few conifers to lose its needles each fall, in the spring they green up really fast.   They tolerate drought,   are fairly fast growing. We got these as 8 to 12 inch seedlings in early 2020 and planted them in cloth planting bags, they are now 3 to 5 ft. tall. Trees generally reach 50-80 feet in height.
