The Victoria Numismatic Society has been operating in Victoria, BC since 1955. The general public are welcome to attend any of our meetings. We have an interest in all of the following: coins, banknotes, medals, etc. Canadian, UK and other Commonwealth, US and World. Beginner or advanced collectors, all welcome. General public can bring items for no cost evaluations by our knowledgeable club members. Meetings are held in the St Matthias Anglican Church Hall (upper floor) which is located on Richardson Street where there is ample free parking. The actual church is located at 600 Richmond Ave. Meetings are on the 2nd Friday of every month from 7.00pm to 9.00pm except in July and August. The VNS website location has changed. We can now be found at: http://victoriacoinclub.wordpress.com/ If you are interested in joining the club, click on the blue coloured link for "membership". NOTE: You do not need to be a member of The Victoria Numismatic Society to sell your collection at our monthly auctions. If you have a coin collection that you might be interested in selling, come on down to the next club meeting and talk to us. You can get free advice regarding your collection and we can suggest what reserve prices you might wish to put on your coins. The charge for non-members is a commission of 10% which is very reasonable. It is worth mentioning that you can try selling just a few coins in the club auction. Others have done just that in the past. It is like testing the water before diving in! UPDATE: Is your favourite word *** F R E E ***? If so, I recently discovered “Internet Archive.” It has everything! I have been uploading old issues of XIO3, the newsletter of the Garden City Atari Computer Enthusiasts so they can continue to exist for centuries to come. However, you will want to visit the archive for other yummy little goodies such as numerous episodes of TV shows (The Prisoner, The New Avengers (John Steed and friends), UFO, SPACE: 1999, Man in a Suitcase, etc). There is also movies, reading material and music (I love Doctor Demento). Drop everything you are doing right now and check out this archive!
