$26 · LIONEL "NEW YORK CENTRAL SYSTEM" GONDOLA TRAIN CAR, model 6002 - vintage, 1952

ATTENTION TRAIN SPOTTERS: Here's a Lionel "New York Central System" gondola, model no. 6002, from my childhood train set, which is 70 years old. Made of unpainted black plastic with white lettering, by Lionel Corporation of New York, N.Y. From a smoke-free house; no smells or odours. This box car was pulled by a Lionel steam locomotive, model 6110. See my separate ads on this site for that locomotive, the caboose model 6007, and a "Baby Ruth" box car model X6004. I'm also selling the Lionel Lines black coal car. As a child, I used to run my 5-piece train around a track with a remote controller. Although this gondola car hasn't been run for about the last 58 years, it was never played with by children after that. It appears to me to be in VG to Excellent condition and I have no reason to think that it doesn't still run smoothly on a track. I've had it with me in Regina for the past 40 years or so, on display with the locomotive, caboose and two other cars for a few years, but most of the time, stored away, out of view.
