$95 · RARE YAMAHA TABLETOP STEREO SYSTEM + CD PLAYER (1991) plus upgraded spkr cables

ATTENTION COLLECTORS: I bought this cool tabletop stereo system model YST-7 and CD player model CDX-P7 at The Radio Centre in Regina in 1991. It was my first CD player. The receiver has a digital clock with alarm and AM and FM radio. The CD player hasn't been used since 1995, which is when I bought a non-portable player. It was in good working order when I retired it after the first four years. I continued to use the rest of the system after 1995 until I took it down a few days ago. I had the stereo system set up in the house for many years, but about 6 years ago I got satellite radio with Alexa, and it was at that point that I stopped listening regularly to AM and FM. Because I'm not getting enough use of out the system, I would now like to sell it. Serial nos. are P10192 for the stereo system and Z357570XZ for the CD player. The stereo system came with thin speaker wire, which I eventually discarded and replaced with a pair of Super OFC Series S6122 speaker cables by Phoenix Gold, which I bought from Harry's Hi Fi and had been using up until then with a large Yamaha receiver/amplifier and Advent speakers that I owned. I am including these cables as part of this listing because I currently have no other equipment to pair them with. These cables gave better sound than the originals, for sure. These are longer cables - one measures about 11 feet and the other about 13.5 feet, which is the length that I needed when I bought them for my "big" system. Please note that one of the metal ends has broken off of one of the cables (see the last photo) so if you want to use this cable, you need to have a simple repair done, but the rest of the cable is fine. After the end broke off, I was listening to this tabletop stereo system through just one speaker and cable, and, surprisingly, the sound is remarkably good, although it will of course be optimal with both speakers connected. I might mention that you might find that you will get better sound through these cables by cutting them to a shorter length, but I am no expert on Phoenix Gold cables, so suggest that you ask the manufacturer or someone else who understands those cables for advice on whether this will make a positive and appreciable difference. I might also mention that this stereo receiver has no battery backup, so when the power goes out, the clock and stations will have to be reset. I almost always used the remote controller to do that. The controller is included. You will get the instruction manuals for the stereo system and the player, and a small black cardboard accessories box for the player, which contains the stereo headphones (never used), an AC adaptor/power supply (model no. ACA-P7) and a line cord to connect the player to the receiver. The player takes 2 rechargeable AA (R 06) batteries which are NOT included. I can't find the boxes that the stereo system and player came in or the carrying belt that was inside the player's accessories box. The speakers sit on stable, removeable stands that are screwed into position with two screws each. Go to radiomuseum.org for descriptions of this tabletop system and player. The stereo and CD player are guaranteed to be in proper working order but in the unlikely event that you find that they are not, I will refund your purchase price if you bring the equipment back within a day or two.
